My Approach

Psychotherapy has many benefits but also poses some risks. Through the therapeutic relationship, therapy can help create more self-awareness and insight, help build better relationships and communication skills, learn to manage stress, create solutions, and increase a sense of well-being. Nevertheless, therapy is a process and sometimes as we dig deeper into the root cause of issues, difficult, uncomfortable, or disturbing feelings or memories may arise. However, by building a trusting relationship, you will feel safe to express yourself honestly so you can free yourself from old, distressing patterns that are no longer serving you.

Using a psychodynamic and family systems approach, I will help you uncover current difficulties in functioning by exploring your past experiences and emotional responses developed in childhood.
For your part, it is important to maintain a consistent schedule and to work on issues outside of therapy. Making changes and discovering who you are can be challenging yet rewarding. As we work together, I will always be open to discussing procedures or treatment goals to make sure your needs are being fully met. I am committed to working with all genders, sexual orientations, spiritual affiliations, races, ethnicity, and cultures.

As your therapist, I look forward to helping you become the best version of yourself!
